Black Women Run For Office

Run for Something has helped elect more than 1,600
young, diverse leaders to local and state office across 49 states.
Many started exactly where you are now—curious, unsure, and ready to learn.

Raise your hand to explore what’s possible.

Recent shifts in federal and corporate policy have contributed to rising unemployment and stalled opportunity for many Black women, particularly as diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives have been rolled back across sectors.

At the same time, the decisions shaping jobs, housing, education, and public investment are increasingly made at the local level. Black Women Run is about reaching people already navigating these realities and creating space to explore local public service as one way to shape what comes next—close to home, where leadership directly impacts daily life.

You don’t need permission.
You’re already leading.
It’s time to run.

Backed by people who get it.
